When the towers fell

Walking around the SAC museum and I saw a new art exhibit that I thought interesting. It was a tribute to the 9-11 attacks on the two towers, a collection of neck ties hanging from two tall towers suspended from the ceiling of the aircraft hanger. It took me quite a bit to realize just what I was seeing there, the sign finally making 2 and 2 make 4 in my mind.

It is hard to believe that there are people that were not alive when the towers fell, let alone adults with no memory of the event raising kids of their own. It shows a lot in the how the country is acting these days, with the thoughts of not so civil war looming in the hearts and minds of men and women alike. I hope it doesn’t come to that, not after how unified I saw the country after the towers fell.

It is also hard to believe that we as a nation are so divided when only a few years ago we were united in our grief. We have come a long way since 9-11 but sadly not for the better.
