I write today from Estes Park, at the Stanley Hotel, currently enjoying a drink while I wait for the girlfriend to finish her massage. It is beautiful up here this time of year and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate a milestone anniversary than being here.

The day of course has me reflecting on the previous year, the ups and downs, the surprises and the steady events that made up the year. I also look towards the future and my plans for 2024 and beyond.

The coming year is full of excitement and hard work. I’ll be working on a certification, going back to school, starting a game design business and god only knows what else (likely a lot of lock picking in there as well). It won’t be an easy year but it will be the most fulfilling one so far. The sky is the limit and the limit is the sky as they say.

Today I also reflect on what I am thankful for. My loving and supportive girlfriend being at the top of the list of course, but shortly followed by the brothers I have forged in the past few years. The IC has been a boon as well and I wouldn’t be the man I am without them.

So as the year comes to a close I will wish 2023 a fond farewell for all the growth and positive change that occurred. I will say good day to the bad that happened and smile with my face towards the sun as I welcome a bright new year into my life.
